  • Discussion of public bathroom bills by Chris Carroll of MBPO and Ryan Hickey of Council Member Sandy Nurse's office:
    • Intro 1154, requires the city to provide access to 3,000 additional bathrooms by 2035 to create a robust public bathroom network for NYC. Currently the city has 1,100 public bathrooms which equals 1 toilet for every 7,700 residents. The goal is to get to 1 toilet for every 2,000 residents. Proposed Aug 3, 2023.
    • Intro 1076, would require the city to identify public-facing municipal buildings with A.D.A accessible bathrooms and permit members of the public to use readily accessible bathrooms in public-facing municipal buildings during business hours. Proposed Jun 2023.
    • Intro 1077, requires the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Department of Transportation to develop a report that proposes a capital project plan and implementation timelines for the installation and maintenance of public bathrooms. Proposed Jun 2023.
  • Discussion of Funding and Right to Counsel by the Right to Counsel Coalition.
