  • 106 East 57th Street, Application for a special permit to legalize the operation of an existing eating and drinking establishment, including entertainment (but no dancing), with a capacity for up to 200 persons, on a portion of the second floor of this building.
  • 7 West 21 Street, two special permits to allow development of an 18-story mixed-use (residential and retail) building and a 200-space parking garage. One permit would permit the attended garage on portions of the ground floor, cellar and sub-cellar. The other permit would modify height and setback requirements facilitating the development of the building within the Ladies' Mile Historic District.

Public Hearing on East Midtown Rezoning

The Department of City Planning is proposing zoning changes to facilitate new commercial development along Madison and Vanderbilt Avenues between 42nd and 47th Streets (the "Vanderbilt Corridor").  Concurrently, developer SL Green is seeking special permits to redevelop the block between 42nd and 43rd Streets and Madison and Vanderbilt Avenues (the "One Vanderbilt" site).

The Tri-Board Task Force on East Midtown and Community Boards Five and Six will hold a Public Hearing on November 17th at 6pm at the South Court Auditorium at The New York Public Library (Stephen A. Schwarzman Building), Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street (enter on 42nd Street) to hear public comment on the proposals for One Vanderbilt and the Vanderbilt Corridor.
