Application from Black House Group Inc., on behalf of Visit Orlando, for “Visit Orlando Activation,” a Promotional Event in Bryant Park, on February 18th, 2023
At the regularly scheduled monthly Community Board Five meeting on Thursday, February 09, 2023, the following resolution passed with a vote of 33 in favor; 0 opposed; 2 abstaining:
WHEREAS, Black House Group Inc. (the “Applicant”) has proposed a promotional event “Visit Orlando Activation” (the “Event”) on behalf of Visit Orlando to take place in Bryant Park from 9am to 10pm on February 18th, 2023; and
WHEREAS, The Event is an initiative to support tourism for the City of Orlando and many of the things that Orlando has to offer including a variety of theme parks; and
WHEREAS, Load-in and load-out for the Event will take place on Saturday, February 18th, 2023 between 9am and 12pm and Saturday, February 18th, 2023 between 8pm and 10pm, respectively; and
WHEREAS, The Event has an expected attendance of 600 people over the course of the one day of the Event, as the Event is tailored to engage pedestrians who are passing by; and
WHEREAS, The Event will take place in the south section of the park adjacent to Le Carrousel estimating to take approximately 39 feet by 30 feet of floor area; and
WHEREAS, The Event signage will be limited to 3 floor standing signs which hold posters that each measure 54 inches tall and 14 inches wide displaying the Visit Orlando logo or the slogan “Orlando Unbelievably Real” logo; and
WHEREAS, The Event activity space will be limited to a 39 foot by 30 foot space where passersby can capture a picture at the Visit Orlando photo monument Snowglobe, consume some complimentary hot chocolate in partnership with “Joe’s Coffee,” an existing Bryant Park food vendor, or take Visit Orlando swag sunglasses or scarves; and
WHEREAS, The Event will use minor wireless lighting to improve the capturing of the photo activation; and
WHEREAS, The Event will have 3 trash cans available for sanitation of used hot chocolate cups and other general refuse; and
WHEREAS, The Event will employ rope and stanchions for line management and delineating the event space on the east side to separate the event from Le Carrousel; and
WHEREAS, The Event photography will only be limited to individuals who are taking part in the activation in the Visit Orland photo monument Snowglobe; and
WHEREAS, There will be no amplified sound; and
WHEREAS, The Event will be staffed by 10 people, including 5 brand ambassadors and 1 photographer; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends approval of the application from Black House Group Inc., on behalf of Visit Orlando, for “Visit Orlando Activation,” a Promotional Event in Bryant Park on February 18th, 2023.
