Applications from Madison Square Park Conservancy for four (4) private events in the gravel concession area, on Monday, June 19; Thursday, June 29; Wednesday, September 13; and Thursday, September 14, 2017
WHEREAS, Madison Square Park Conservancy ("Applicant") has submitted applications to hold four private events, intended to both honor corporate sponsors and thank volunteers, on the Shake Shack gravel area in Madison Square Park; and
WHEREAS, The events are as follows:
Madison Square Park Friends Shake Shack Party: June 19, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00PM, a 100-person/member appreciation party in its second year with MSPC hosting,
Credit Suisse Shake Shack Buyout: June 29, 2017 from 5:00 – 9:00PM, a repeat event dating from 2008; drawing 350 people,
Madison Square Park Conservancy's Thank You event for Pentagram: September 13, 2017 from 6:00- 9:00PM, a 100-person event to thank Pentagram for pro-bono design services, dating back as a repeat event since 2009,
O'Donnell (Brooklyn Bridge Ventures) Shake Shack Buyout: September 14, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, drawing 300 persons and held annually since 2008; and
WHEREAS, All of the events are recurring events from years prior; and
WHEREAS, Set-up would begin no earlier than 2:00 p.m. on the day of each event, and breakdown would be completed no later than 10:00 p.m. the night of each event; and
WHEREAS, There will be no amplified sound or sub-woofers used, no signage or corporate sponsorship whatsoever, and no sanitation impact on the Park; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends approval of the applications from Madison Square Park Conservancy for four (4) private events in the gravel concession area, on Monday, June 19; Thursday, June 29; Wednesday, September 13; and Thursday, September 14, 2017.
