Application for an intercity bus stop in front of 766 8th Avenue, between West 46th and West 47th Streets.

WHEREAS, The Applicant, Marcus Paolo Tours, operates an intercity bus company that provides bus service between New York City, Niagara Falls, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC; and

WHEREAS, The Applicant has requested permission from the Department of Transportation (DOT) to locate a bus stop in front of 766 8th Avenue between West 46th and West 47th Streets; and

WHEREAS, The proposed location would accommodate 2 pickups each day, Monday – Sunday, at 6:00am and 6:45am and 2 drop offs each day, Monday – Sunday, at 8:30pm and 8:45pm, totaling 14 pickups and 14 drop offs each day; and

WHEREAS, The proposed site is 129 feet long and currently serves as a bus stop for Gray Line New York Sightseeing Tours; and

WHEREAS, Community Board Five contacted the Applicant numerous times yet the Applicant was almost entirely unresponsive to our outreach, didn't show up at committee and was unresponsive to subsequent outreach, showing no willingness to engage or cooperate; and

WHEREAS, Community Board Five historically denies any bus stop application if the Applicant does not post notice or attend our public hearing; therefore be it

RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends denial of the application by Marcus Paolo Tours for an intercity bus stop in front of 766 8th Avenue, between West 46th and West 47th Streets.
