Application for an unenclosed sidewalk café at 1 Hotel at 1414 Avenue of the Americas, operating as 1414 Holdings LLC has submitted
WHEREAS, 1414 Avenue of the Americas, operating as 1414 Holdings LLC has submitted an application seeking permission to install and operate an unenclosed sidewalk café at 1414 Avenue of the Americas; and
WHEREAS, The café will operate between 11am and 10pm Sunday through Thursday and 11am until 11pm on Friday and Saturday; and
WHEREAS, The proposed unenclosed sidewalk café would have four (4) tables and eight (8) chairs for eight (8) patrons with a dedicated service door; and
WHEREAS, The proposed unenclosed sidewalk café would be installed a minimum of 10 feet east of the curb, and would allow nearly 11 feet of unobstructed pedestrian sidewalk passage (8 feet of which does not contain any grating) on Avenue of the Americas; and
WHEREAS, There will be no additional lighting, music, or signage; and
WHEREAS, There is no liquor license yet for this sidewalk cafe at this time; and
WHEREAS, The condo Board President of the adjacent property came and spoke in support of the sidewalk café; and
WHEREAS, The application meets the guidelines set for sidewalk cafes and the applicant has assured us they will keep the tables and chairs tight against the building at all times; therefore be it
RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends approval of 1414 Holdings LLC at 1414 Avenue of the Americas application seeking permission to install and operate an unenclosed sidewalk café at 1414 Avenue of the Americas.
