Application from Madison Square Park Conservancy for “Charlie O’Donnell Shake Shack Event” on Wednesday, September 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m
At the regularly scheduled monthly Community Board Five meeting on Thursday, September 11, 2014, the following resolution passed with a vote of 35 in favor; 0 opposed; 1 abstaining:
WHEREAS, Madison Square Park Conservancy ("Applicant") has submitted an application to hold "Charlie O'Donnell Event," a private event on Wednesday, September 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, Applicant has held the annual event for Brooklyn Bridge Ventures, a major and longtime contributor to Applicant to assist in their stated mission to keep the park clean, safe and active; and
WHEREAS, The event will consist of a reception for 300 guests with passed food provided by Shake Shack, to be held only in the concession gravel area, with the space to be tented with two 14x28 tents, two 20x20 tents, and one 10x30 tent; with no other public space or walkways through the Park affected; and
WHEREAS, Set-up would begin no earlier than 2:00 p.m. and breakdown would be completed no later than 10:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, There will be no amplified sound or sub-woofers used, no signage or corporate sponsorship whatsoever, and no sanitation impact on the Park; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends approval of the application from Madison Square Park Conservancy for "Charlie O'Donnell Shake Shack Event" on Wednesday, September 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
