Ancient Order of Hibernians and St. Bartholomew's Church, application for a street fair on Avenue of the Americas between 42nd and 56th Streets on Saturday, August 16th.

At the regularly scheduled monthly meeting of Community Board Five on Thursday, March 13, 2014, the Board passed the following resolution by a vote of 36 in favor; 0 opposed; 1 abstaining:

WHEREAS, While Community Board Five takes no negative position on St Bartholomew Church's application to hold a street fair on Saturday, August 16^th  on The Avenue of the Americas between 42^nd and 56^th Streets, CB5 does have a specific concern with the application of The Ancient Order of Hibernians; and

WHEREAS, The Ancient Order of Hibernians requests a permit to organize a street fair on the Avenue of the Americas between 42^nd and 56^th Streets on Saturday, August 16^th, 2013; and

WHEREAS, The Ancient Order of Hibernians is on record as excluding and/or discriminating against Gay and Lesbian organizations in their functions; and

WHEREAS, The discriminatory practices of the Ancient Order of Hibernians are against Community Board Five's Street Activity Permit Policies; therefore be it

RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends denial of the application of The Ancient Order of Hibernians to hold a street fair on Avenue of the Americas between 42^nd and 56^th Streets on Saturday, August 16^th, 2014.
