A.R.E.B.A Casriel, Inc. (ACI) requests for approval to relocate their existing outpatient psychotherapy and behavioral health services from 315 5th Avenue to 255 West 36th Street
At the regularly scheduled monthly meeting of Community Board Five on Thursday, July 10, 2014, the Board passed the following resolution by a vote of 39 in favor; 0 opposed; 1 abstaining.
WHEREAS, Areba Casriel, Inc. (ACI), an outpatient center for the private treatment of alcohol and substance abuse, is planning to relocate their service to 255 West 36th Street, from their present location at 315 - 5th Avenue; and
WHEREAS, The state licensing authority — the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) — has asked the senior management of ACI to inform CB5 of this planned move; and
WHEREAS, ACI's services are limited to counseling and psychotherapy with an average caseload of 100 individuals and approximately 40 individuals coming to the center each day; and
WHEREAS, ACI has offered services at their current location on 5th Avenue for 15 years without incident; therefore be it
RESOLVED, Community Board Five will write a letter of support to OASAS on behalf of ACI and their planned relocation.
