381 Park Avenue South at 27th Street, Sarabeth's PAS LLC dba Sarabeth's, application for a new unenclosed sidewalk café with 23 tables and 46 seats.
At the regularly scheduled monthly meeting of Community Board Five on Thursday, March 14, 2013, the Board passed the following resolution by a vote of 34 in favor; 0 opposed; 1 abstaining.
WHEREAS, The applicant, Sarabeth's PAS LLC, dba Sarabeth's, is applying for a revocable consent for an unenclosed sidewalk café with 23 tables and 46 seats; and
WHEREAS, The proposed sidewalk café would be located completely on 27th street; and
WHEREAS, The application appeared to be compliant with DCA regulations; and
WHEREAS, The closing hours (tables and chairs folded, locked and/or put away) would be by 11:00pm every night; and
WHEREAS, The applicant has agreed to close the café even earlier at CB5's request should any unforeseen noise issues or complaints arise.
WHEREAS, The applicant will have no amplified sound at the café; and
WHEREAS, The management of Sarabeth's have had several sidewalk cafés around the city and have worked well with CB5 to resolve any issues and complaints, and
WHEREAS, This particular Sarabeth's location has ample interior space for patrons waiting to be seated at the café as to alleviate any additional congestion on the street
WHEREAS, No comment or objection was raised by members of the public; therefore be it
RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends approval of the application by Sarabeth's for a revocable consent for an unenclosed sidewalk café at 381 Park Avenue South at 27th Street.
