27 West 24th Street b/t 5-6th Avenues, Junoon NYC LLC dba Junoon Restaurant, application for a new unenclosed sidewalk café with 13 tables and 40 seats.
At the regularly scheduled monthly meeting of Community Board Five on Thursday, March 14, 2013, the Board passed the following resolution by a vote of 34 in favor; 0 opposed; 1 abstaining.
WHEREAS, The applicant seeks to operate a new unenclosed sidewalk café at 27 West 24th Street with 13 tables and 40 chairs; and
WHEREAS, The proposed cafe would take up less than half the width of the sidewalk leaving more than 9 feet of space for pedestrian traffic; and
WHEREAS, The proposed location is directly next to other sidewalk café's of the same size and width; and
WHEREAS, Traffic flows easily past the neighboring cafes; and
WHEREAS, The applicant has agreed to close the proposed cafe by 10 pm Sunday through Wednesday and 11pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday; and
WHEREAS, The applicant has agreed that there will be no amplified sound at the proposed sidewalk cafe; and
WHEREAS, There were no complaints on file and no one was present to speak against this application; therefore be it
RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends approval of a new unenclosed sidewalk cafe for Junoon Restaurant at 27 West 24th Street with 11 tables and 22 seats
