201 Park Avenue South and 17th Street, Olive’s NY LLC dba Olive’s NY, application for a new unenclosed sidewalk café with 10 tables and 20 seats
At the regularly scheduled monthly meeting of Community Board Five on Thursday, June 13, 2013, the Board passed the following resolution by a vote of 39 in favor; 0 opposed; 1 abstaining.
WHEREAS, The applicant is seeking permission to operate an unenclosed sidewalk café with 10 tables and 20 chairs at 201 Park avenue South and the corner of 17th Street; and
WHEREAS, The café would be entirely located on the 17th street side of the building; and
WHEREAS, The proposed table and chairs would be 2 tops positioned against the building, leaving 9'8" of space for pedestrian traffic; and
WHEREAS, The applicant has agreed to not include any railings or barriers allowing for the 3 foot of service isle to act as shared space with pedestrian traffic; and
WHEREAS, The applicant has agreed to close the sidewalk café by 11:00pm Sunday Thru Thursday and by 12:00 Friday and Saturday; and
WHEREAS, A sidewalk café has existed previously at this location without incident or public detriment; and
WHEREAS, No comment or objection was raised by members of the public; therefore be it
RESOLVED. Community Board Five recommends approval of the application by Olive's NY to operate an unenclosed sidewalk café with 10 tables and 20 seats at 201 Park Avenue South and 17th Street.
