921 Broadway (bet. 21st and 22nd Streets), 921 Broadway Bakery, LLC d/b/a Maison Kayser Bakery, application for an unenclosed sidewalk café.
At the regularly scheduled monthly meeting of Community Board Five on Thursday, July 11, 2013, the Board passed the following resolution by a vote of 38 in favor; 0 opposed; 1 abstaining.
WHEREAS, The applicant, 921 Broadway Bakery, LLC is applying for an unenclosed sidewalk café at 921 Broadway (at the North West corner of Broadway and 21st street); and
WHEREAS, The applicant appeared before Community Board Five at a regularly scheduled board meeting to address certain concerns about the proposed sidewalk café; and
WHEREAS, The applicant has agreed to eliminate 5 tables and 10 seats in order to lessen the potential impact on pedestrian traffic; and
WHEREAS, The new configuration of this sidewalk café would take up no more than 7' 8" of sidewalk space on the Broadway side(including planters) and would allow for more than 10 feet from the curb for unobstructed pedestrian traffic; and
WHEREAS, The applicant agreed to the Committee's requirements for sidewalk café operating hours of Sunday through Thursday 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM and 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Friday and Saturday; and
WHEREAS, The applicant is not applying for a liquor license at this location; therefore be it
RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends approval of the application for an unenclosed sidewalk café with 18 tables and 38 seats for Maison Kayser Bakery located at 921 Broadway in New York City.
