Application from Inspira Marketing Group for “Play Day” in Herald Square on January 11, 2014
At the regularly scheduled monthly meeting of Community Board Five on Thursday, December 12, 2013, the following resolution passed with a unanimous vote of 34 in favor; 0 opposed; 1 abstaining:
WHEREAS, Inspira Marketing ("Applicant") has submitted an application to hold "Play Day," an event to showcase GoGo Squeez Apple Sauce, in Herald Square on Saturday, January 11, 2014; and
WHEREAS, The event would take place from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., with set-up to begin at 12 p.m. noon and breakdown to be completed by 1:45 p.m., all on the day of the event; and
WHEREAS, The event will consist of no more than ten 'street performers' playing band instruments, occupying a small footprint at the northernmost part of Herald Square, distributing samples of apple sauce to the public for free; and
WHEREAS, The applicant has agreed to no signage, other than a banner held by band members; and
WHEREAS, The applicant has agreed to no amplified sound; and
WHEREAS, The applicant agreed to create a recycling point for possible refuse in response to concerns from the committee; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends denial of the application from Inspira Marketing for "Play Day" in Herald Square on Saturday, January 11, 2014 unless the agreements referenced in this resolution are administered.
