22 West 32nd Street (between Broadway and 5th Avenue), New York, New York, BUNGA INC. D/B/A JONGRGO BBQ, APPLICATION FOR A NEW BEER AND WINE LICENSE
At the monthly meeting of Community Board Five on Thursday, December 12, 2013, the Board passed the following resolution by a vote of 34 in favor; 0 opposed; 1 abstaining:
WHEREAS, 32 BUNGA INC. ("Applicant") has notified Community Board Five of its intention to apply for a new beer-and-wine license for a 2nd-floor restaurant located at 22 West 32nd Street (between Broadway and 5th Avenue), New York, New York ("the Premises"); and
WHEREAS, The Premises will be operated solely as a restaurant with normal dining service only and a full kitchen with food service during all hours of operation; and
WHEREAS, The Premises will have a total floor area of 6,366 square feet of interior space on the second floor, with 2 (two) entrances and 3 (three) means of emergency egress; and
WHEREAS, The Premises will have no patron bar, 30 tables and 100 chairs; and
WHEREAS, The Applicant has agreed that no promoters, live music, DJs, or lounge-activity will be employed;
WHEREAS, The Applicant will not seek a sidewalk café permit or cabaret license;
WHEREAS, The Premises may serve food 24 hours per day but will serve beer and wine only until 2am every day of the week; and
WHEREAS, The Applicant is seeking an appropriate Certificate of Occupancy from the Department of Buildings; and
WHEREAS, The Applicant has stipulated that they will inform Community Board Five when the appropriate Certificate of Occupancy is granted, thus making the Premises legal and compliant; and
WHEREAS, The Applicant has proven to be a good neighbor and responsible operator, owning several other restaurants in the area, known as Koreatown; and
WHEREAS, Community Board Five has not received any community opposition to this application; therefore be it
RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends denial of a new on-premises beer-and-wine license for a second-floor space located at 22 West 32nd Street (between Broadway and 5th Avenue), New York, New York, unless the above stipulations are met.
