Hanna Van Der Kolk (two 20 minute solo dance/theater performance) – Thursday, May 12 – Bryant Park
WHEREAS, Hannah van der Kolk has applied for a special event permit to hold two 20 minute back to back dance performances in Bryant Park on Thursday, May 12, 2005; and
WHEREAS, The performances will take place on the lawn or space TBD by Bryant Park; and
WHEREAS, The event would begin at 1:00pm and end at 2:30 p.m., with set-up starting at 12:45 p.m. and clean-up ending at 2:40 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, The event has no signage; and
WHEREAS, The dance was choreographed by Deborah Hay and adapted by Hanna van der Kolk to be performed in public outdoor spaces; and
WHEREAS, The applicant has done similar performances at other neighborhood spaces without complaint; and
WHEREAS, There is no charge for this event, no merchandise will be sold and no vendors charged; and
WHEREAS, The event requires no stage and no amplified sound; and
WHEREAS, A small sandwich board will be set up to hold pamphlets and information about the piece; and
WHEREAS, The applicant has agreed to leave the park cleaner then it was found; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That Community Board Five recommends approval of the special event permit to Hanna van der Kolk to hold two back to back dance performances in Bryant Park on Thursday, May 12, 2005.
The above resolution passed with a vote of 18 in favor, 0 opposed, 2 abstentions.
