Application from Trifecta Studios for the “JC Penney Ashley Nell Tipton Fashion Event” in Greeley Square Park on Tuesday, September 6
WHEREAS, Trifecta Studios ("Applicant") has submitted an application for a fashion show and interactive event comprised of three fashion shows and three interactive booths in Greeley Square Park on Tuesday, September 6 from 10am-6pm; and
WHEREAS, The event is free and open to the public and scheduled during New York City's Fashion Week; and
WHEREAS, Applicant has worked closely with 34th Street Partnership over the past four months to develop the staffing and security plan, which has been shared in detail with Community Board Five; and
WHEREAS, Set up for the event would begin at midnight on September 6 and clean-up would be completed before midnight on September 7; and
WHEREAS, There will only be amplified sound during three 30-minute fashion shows, and it will be kept between 80 and 85 decibels; and
WHEREAS, There will be no materials distributed or goods sold at the event, and the application is on behalf of JC Penney, a stakeholder in the area; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, CB5 Parks Committee recommends approval of the application from Trifecta Studios for the "JC Penney Ashley Nell Tipton Fashion Event" in Greeley Square Park on Tuesday, September 6; and be it further
RESOLVED, As the timing of the application being submitted to the Parks Department prevented a proper public hearing by Community Board Five in advance of the event, Community Board Five continues to request that the Parks Department extend the minimum notice required of event applications, to ensure that they can be heard at a public hearing.
