Application from Eventage for “Oreo Wonderfilled Day” in Union Square Park on Tuesday, May 14th, 2013 from 12-12:15pm
At the regularly scheduled monthly meeting of Community Board Five on Thursday, May 09, 2013, the following resolution passed with a unanimous vote of 34 in favor; 0 opposed; 1 abstaining:
WHEREAS, Eventage ("Applicant") has submitted an application to hold "Oreo Wonderfilled Day," an event to showcase their new jingle, in the North Plaza of Union Square Park on Tuesday, May 14th, 2013 from 12-12:15pm; and
WHEREAS, Applicant's objective is to build city-wide awareness of their new jingle on May 14th by disbursing brand ambassadors throughout the city and distributing complimentary Oreo samples and t-shirts, with the application for Union Square Park being the culminating event; and
WHEREAS, The event is a one-time publicity event for Oreo that will feature an a capella chorus of up to 500 singers, each wearing an Oreo t-shirt, to break into a "flash mob" performance of the jingle at noon; and
WHEREAS, The event calls for no stage, signage, or recordings, but will use four to six small speakers to amplify sound; and
WHEREAS, The event is smaller than originally planned, and will not feature press at Union Square Park; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends approval of the application from Eventage for "Oreo Wonderfilled Day" in Union Square Park on Tuesday, May 14th, 2013 from 12-12:15pm
