Ancient Order of Hibernians and St. Bartholomew's Church, application for a street fair on The Avenue of the Americas bet.42nd and 56th Streets on Saturday, August 17th.

At the regularly scheduled monthly meeting of Community Board Five on Thursday, February 14, 2013, the Board passed the following resolution by a vote of 32 in favor; 0 opposed; 1 abstaining:

WHEREAS, Community Board Five takes no negative position on St Bartholomew Church's application for to hold a street fair on Saturday, August 17^th   on The Avenue of the Americas between 42^nd and 56^th Streets, the board does have a specific concern with the application of The Ancient Order of Hibernians; and

WHEREAS, The Ancient Order of Hibernians wants to organize a street fair on the Avenue of the Americas between 42nd and 56th Street, on Saturday, August 17^th, 2013; and

WHEREAS, The Ancient Order of Hibernians is on record as excluding and/or discriminating against Gay and Lesbian organizations in their functions; and

WHEREAS, The discriminatory practices of the Ancient Order of Hibernians are against Community Board Five's Street Activity Permit Policies; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends denial of the application of The Ancient Order of Hibernians to hold a street fair on Avenue of the Americas between 42nd and 56th Street, on Saturday, August 17th, 2013.
