Application from Great Wolf Lodge for a Movie Screening at Bryant Park on August 14th.

At the regularly scheduled monthly Community Board Five meeting on Thursday, July 14, 2022, the following resolution passed with a vote of 33 in favor; 0 opposed; 1 abstaining:

WHEREAS, Great Wolf Lodge (“Applicant”) has submitted an application to conduct a movie screening on August 14th, 2022 on the Lawn at Bryant Park; and

WHEREAS, The animated movie is to be family-friendly and suitable for all ages; and

WHEREAS, There will be two showings of the movie at 2pm and 5pm on the Bryant Park movie screen stage, adjacent to the fountain; and

WHEREAS, Each of these showings will be of a 45-minute duration; and

WHEREAS, The audio/sound level will be no louder than on Bryant Park Movie Night; and

WHEREAS, The movie screenings will be open to the general public; and

WHEREAS, All attendees will have an opportunity to get a great Wolf Ear headband by posting from the event to social media; and

WHEREAS,  All attendees will have the opportunity to get a snack and water; and

WHEREAS, There will be a designated location on the lawn area for up to 250 VIP guests and sponsors, to be composed of shareholders, (Blackstone/Centerbridge Partners), social influencers and media; and

WHEREAS, The VIP area will have a more robust snack assortment and non-alcoholic drink availability and preset blankets on the lawn; and will be entered via a wrist band or VIP sticker; and

WHEREAS, There will be two wolf costume characters mingling with the crowd, who will be confined to Meet and Greet 30 to 45 minutes before and after each screening, to the left of the stage; and

WHEREAS, This area will also accommodate a photo backdrop set-up where the “Wolves” will roam; and

WHEREAS, The area to the right of the stage will have a 3D photo spot where guests can stand inside a scene from the movie for a photo; and

WHEREAS, Both areas to the left and right of the stage are where the snacks and water will be offered to attendees; and 

WHEREAS, The set up will begin at 8am and the take down will be completed by 9pm on event day; and

WHEREAS, The sponsor has agreed to work with the Bryant Park Corporation to ensure that there are enough measures to ensure a sanitary, clean and safe environment; and

WHEREAS, Community Board Five believes this event is within the bounds of past approvals for similar events in Bryant Park, which receives significant compensation in exchange for this use of public space; therefore, be it 

RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends approval of the application from Great Wolf Lodge for a Movie Screening at Bryant Park on August 14th.
