Newsstand application (# 4068-2017-ANWS) at the northeast corner of 7 Avenue and West 51 Street
WHEREAS, The applicant seeks a permit to install and operate a newsstand on the NEC of 7th Avenue and West 51st Street, across from 148 West 51st Street; and
WHEREAS, The proposed newsstand would be located in a heavily congested area and create numerous obstructions; and
WHEREAS, The proposed newsstand would create an unnecessary burden on pedestrian flow; and
WHEREAS, The applicant failed to attend the public hearing and post notification in the community, depriving the public of the opportunity to weigh in on this use of public space; therefore be it
RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends denial of the application to install a newsstand at the northeast corner of 7th Avenue and West 51st Street.
