Madison Square Park Conservancy’s application to conduct a special event in Madison Square Park on Tuesday May 4, 2010, for their annual gala fundraising reception
WHEREAS, Community Board Five takes its role in the review of applications for Parks Special Events seriously and requests an opportunity to review the application before a permit is granted by the Parks Department Special Permit Office; and
WHEREAS, Madison Square Park Conservancy has submitted an application seeking permission to conduct its annual gala fundraising reception in Madison Square Park on Tuesday May 4, 2010, from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM; and
WHEREAS, There is a long-standing precedent for the Conservancy’s reception in Madison Square Park; and
WHEREAS, Madison Square Park Conservancy has agreed that when presenting future event applications they will clearly state whether or not these events are occurring concurrently with previously approved special events; and
WHEREAS, If there are any material changes in the event from previous years i.e. signage, set-up, scale, location, and/or ancillary activities, Madison Square Park Conservancy has agreed to return and present these changes to Community Board Five; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That Community Board Five recommends approval of Madison Square Park Conservancy’s application to conduct their annual gala fundraiser in Madison Square Park on Tuesday May 4, 2010.
